Honda has become a principal sponsor in the world of E-Sports, and perhaps most notably, a principal sponsor of perhaps the largest E-Sports team in North America- Team Liquid. Liquid has won countless international championships and is known for their All-Star roster. At the top of that roster is undoubtedly Peter “Doublelift” Peng, who holds the most LCS Championships in history.
Regarded by many as the greatest League of Legends player in North America, Doublelift is known for his competitive chat in-game, where he refers to most people as “trash”. So when Honda approached Team Liquid about creating a commercial starring Doublelift, it was a great opportunity to show Doublelift literally “taking out the trash”.
Shot late at night between competitions in Van Nuys, CA, we rented a warehouse space and followed Peter as he leaves the training facility and enters his Team Liquid-wrapped Honda Civic.
